I feel so privileged and honored to have served as your Kitsap County commissioner for seven years. It’s also personally gratifying because I enjoy the day-to-day challenges and endless opportunities to work out win-win solutions. Even with a troubled economy and declining revenues since 2008, I have served Kitsap County residents responsibly and effectively. As a diligent and experienced county commissioner, I have succeeded at:
§ Balancing seven annual Kitsap County budgets. I know how to help the county live within our means and protect vital core services.
§ Helping displaced workers find new jobs in building energy assessments and renovations. I know how to promote workforce development, create the jobs we need and stimulate sustainable economic development.
§ Engaging and partnering with community groups. I especially value the involvement of citizen groups in public projects on behalf of their own communities
I have a long and fervent history of championing local quality of life issues; but there is still much to be done.
Our future hinges on a strong economy, a healthy and sustainable environment and local people working together. I very much need your help so I can continue to serve you and ensure uninterrupted attention to critical issues, such as our need to:
- Grow living wage job opportunities in Kitsap County
- Judiciously manage our budget expenditures and revenues and develop performance measures
- Provide good transportation options – including ferries, transit, and regional trails for pedestrians and bicycles
- Partner with other jurisdictions to find shared efficiencies and end needless duplication
I need your support now. You can help by VOLUNTEERING, ENDORSING or CONTRIBUTING whatever you are able to afford. In return, I pledge my whole-hearted commitment to serving you with the diligence, caring and devotion to public service that you deserve.
Yours in public service,
Charlotte Garrido
